![]() ![]() Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. ![]() Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. ![]() “Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device It proceeded to install, but then gave me the following error message after flickering the screen four times: I also tried to manually install the generic MS HD 4200 driver, by selecting Have Disk and selecting the C7179335.inf file directly from the Windows folder. “ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series: No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device.” If I click Driver Details, a message pops up: Oddly, when I checked the drivers for the HD 4200 in Device Manager, it says there are NO drivers installed for this device, YET the fields on the Driver Tab are populated with the driver's details:ĭriver Provider: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.ĭigital Signature: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher Windows downloaded a generic driver for the HD 4200, but it still continues to use the MS Basic Display driver. Yesterday, I even installed Windows 10 from a clean slate, a fresh clean, custom installation, YET the same problem continues. At this point, I don’t even care about switching, I just want one of them to work correctly so I can change the 1024x768 resolution to something higher. ![]() When I open the Display Settings and click on the Display Adapter Properties link, the Adapter window opens and the Adapter Type is always Microsoft Basic Display Driver. What I mean is that Windows 10 continues to use the Microsoft Basic Display driver no matter what I seem to try. I upgraded to Windows 10 圆4 and now for the life of me, I cannot get either GPU to work properly. The other is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 (MSI). The integrated GPU is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 (RS880M) I have a MSI FX610 laptop, model# MS-16GK, which has dual GPUs that are switchable. ![]()
